Week 59

Week 59
Hey yall! I had a pretty good week, but it was definitely one of those weeks where you thought it was never gonna end. I was really tired and never really fully woke up through the day, so that was tough. Buuuut we survived!
This week I got to experience the deep southern part of our area. It's a town called Gainesboro and boy.... this was a small town. We visited a member who lives in a house built in the 1800s and he just hooked one singular water pipe to it last week. He's gone this long without plumbing or water. We also have to drive across (literally) a creek to get to his house, so we had to go on a dry day or else you would literally have to drive thru a river haha! I was surrounded with a bunch of people with the thickest accents I've ever heard and I loved it! Oh.... I got told not once, but TWICE that I have picked up some accent... That's the 3rd time in the last 3 months or so I've been told that. Sister walker (a missionary who went home last transfer) came back with her family to visit, and they are from Utah. The mom and sister said I say things with a hint of a southern accent.. Honestly I don't hear it, but I guess yall will have to let me know in 4 months!
We also had an amazing lesson with Samantha!! Yall, she is one of the most prepared people I think I've ever met. She came to church for the first time and was asking amazing questions the whole time. It was so cool to answer her questions because it got me thinking about the simplicity of the gospel and how blessed we are to actually have all the answers. She said that she has been to so many churches and none of them could answer all her questions and she never felt good afterwards. But she said that she felt so good at church and the answers we were giving her simply made sense. The gospel is so cool yall. Its the simplest of things that can answer ALL of life's questions.
This week we went to a lot of activities and that was fun! I've also been tech decking more than ever before and I'm getting pretty good at it hehe🛹
Our friend Sam (not Samantha, a different one) is currently praying about a baptismal date, so if yall could keep him in your prayers, that would mean so much and make a huge difference. he knows the church is true, he is just worried about some of the commitments that follow baptism. But I know he will do what's best for him and make the decision he needs to. I love him tons!!
It was overall a good week, and I'm excited for this week! I took a 3 hour nap today, so I should be revived for the next 7 days. Man I love being a missionary even tho it is the HARDEST sometimes, I still love these these southern people and love this little back tag ❤️
I love yall!!

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start 😂 so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
