week 15

Sister Christensen is gone😥 being in a trio is a lot different but it is so much fun!
This week has been a lot of teaching and feeling like I'm a chicken with my head cut off. I know I'm working hard, but it's getting really overwhelming having to run the area. My companions are following my lead cuz I know that area and I have to train them how to do ads, and it's hard haha. Once 9 hits, I'm so mentally tired that I fall asleep at my desk. But I'm grateful everyday for the small successes, cuz there are several failures throughout the day😅 it amazes me that president Graham and God trust me to do what I'm doing, cuz I feel so underqualified sometimes. But it's a good thing I have the best companions to keep me going thru the day!!
This entire week I feel like God blessed me with eyes to see potential in people. I visited a lot of inactive members and and I made a list of the people I could see going to the temple for the first time this transfer. It is a good list! I also had a conversation with a lady that was smoking on her front porch and while I was talking about how christ knows her personally and can help her turn her life around, I looked at her and she was crying. It was such an eye opening moment of the power of missionary work.
I had lots of small moments like that, that helped me to realize how grateful I am to be here. I don't know exactly know if I'm making a difference, but I do know that I am supposed to be here:)
My days are busy, but I find small ways to make them fun and bearable. My companions help with that TONS. My advice to everyone is to make everything fun and meaningful cuz it makes aalll the difference in whatever you are doing. When I mess up, I laugh at myself😂 it makes life more fun and that mentality diminishes my fear of doing something wrong or embarrassing myself. So that's what I've been working on these last few weeks, and it has definitely helped me to have more fun, even when the things I am doing aren't necessarily my favorite.
I love all the support from friends and family! It makes all the difference and I definitely wouldn't be able to do this with out everyone!

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start 😂 so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
