Week 18

This was a good week! I was really bad about journaling, so I can't quite remember exactly everything that happened, but here's a few things:)
1) We got a new branch presidency for the YSA and the president is super cool! He comes to all the activities which is fun!
2) there is a less active family that we went and visited last week, and we talked with the mom for a little bit, and she was going thru a lot. She mentioned her birthday being on the 6th, so we came back this week and brought her a card and some flowers, and it made her so happy! It was really sweet to see:) serving is addicting!
3) we also drove a while to go visit someone in our area book who we have never meet to give her a cookie pie and she how she'd doing. She was so touched that we came to visit, and we even got to come back a few days later to have a lesson with her! Her name is Kayla and she is a young single mother of a year old baby and she is seriously the sweetest girl ever. I really hope she progresses, cuz i can see the amount of potential she could reach if she were to be baptized.
4)we got back in contact with Shirley and Joanne! They are the 2 sisters that live with each other, and they fell off the face of the earth for a good month, but we were able to have a lesson with them this week which was much needed!
5)On Friday we had 3 dinners... it was terrible😅 the food was good! But we all wanted to die, we were so stuffed. We had a lesson with claire right before our dinner appointment, so we told her to not feed us (in her culture, if you have any company over, you ALWAYS make a meal for them. Apparently it's disrespectful if you dont) but she made us a meal anyways😂 she dished us up big portions, and we had to eat it. Then right after we went to our dinner appointment, and then we went to the institute building for the movie night with the YSA (we watched the chosen) and the new branch president showed up with 5 boxes of pizza cuz he wanted to be nice/helpful. But there were only like 4 people there, so my comps and I felt so bad that he brought all this food and no one was going to eat it. So we each ate some and it was so hard to swallow it down. I've never been so full in my entire life. Sister Williams was up in the middle of the night throwing up, and the next day we stayed in the apartment until 7pm cuz she was so nauseous and sick. We drove to the store to get some 7up for her and she slept in the back seat haha. I felt so bad for her. She took a 2 hour nap while sister garbett and I worked on fb ads and calling people (perks to being in a trio!!). But it was still a good day!
6) we were at a gas station and Sister Williams thought the pump clicked, so she pulled out the nozzle while it was still pumping😂😂😂 it was so funny and we all smelled like gas for a good while.
7) we went and visited a lady in the ward who hasn't been to church in a little over 2 years. It was my first time meeting her and when she walked out, she reminded me of my grandma Teresa. I don't know what exactly it was, but I felt like I knew her. So talking to her was really special. She has been going thru a lot of difficult health things and other problems with her family. But she was so sweet and hobbled out to her yard to pick us some flowers and give us Goodluck buckeyes from her tree. I was also talking to her and I randomly asked if she liked having her nails done, and she said she used to get them done every month, but then when she stopped working she couldn't afford it anymore, so she hasn't had them done for a long time. I told her I love doing nails and I'd love to do them for her and she got real excited! So next time we come over I'm going to do her nails:)
I can't remember anything else noteworthy from this week, but it was a good week and SUPER fast!

Week 64

Well sister Oldroyd is shipped off to Chattanooga 😥 BUT I love my new companion, sister Chan! I'm glad I get to serve with her and we are having so much fun! This week it was really a struggle to get return appointments with the people we are teaching and holy moly, it is a never ending battle and it makes me want to lose my mind sometimes. I love these people so so much, but I get really tired if spending time trying to chase them down to have a lesson😂I just want to consistently teach someone, BUT it's not about what I want, it's about how God wants to use me as his hands. And I guess right now he is needing me to do a LOT of seed planting. After a long week of seed planting, I am eager to pick fruit, but unfortunately it takes a lot of time. The beginning of the week consisted of going around and saying goodbye to people since sister Oldroyd is leaving. So we took a lot of pics with members and friends. I'm glad I'm not the one leaving because I am getting kind...

Week 34

Transfers!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳 My new companion is Sister Kirkman and SHE. IS. AWESOME.🔥 This is her 2nd transfer, so I am 2nd half training her, but shes literally got everything down💪 I am in Hixson Tennessee near Chattanooga which is fun. We've have a random heat wave blow through and that has not been fun. I'm so ready to break out the sweaters! Also, our apartment has a roach problem... I opened up a drawer to get a spoon and a roach scurried into the depths of the drawer... I didn't try and find it. But besides that, this apartment is pretty nice!  Our district is pretty big too which will make Pdays really fun. There are 5 companionships in our district.  There are some amazing people here too. I really want to see a baptism while I'm here and I think there are lots of prepared people, we just need to be guides to them. So prayers for that would be very helpful! Here was a cool thought from this week: We were talking to the wife of a Baptist preacher and we were talking...

Week 59

Week 59 Hey yall! I had a pretty good week, but it was definitely one of those weeks where you thought it was never gonna end. I was really tired and never really fully woke up through the day, so that was tough. Buuuut we survived! This week I got to experience the deep southern part of our area. It's a town called Gainesboro and boy.... this was a small town. We visited a member who lives in a house built in the 1800s and he just hooked one singular water pipe to it last week. He's gone this long without plumbing or water. We also have to drive across (literally) a creek to get to his house, so we had to go on a dry day or else you would literally have to drive thru a river haha! I was surrounded with a bunch of people with the thickest accents I've ever heard and I loved it! Oh.... I got told not once, but TWICE that I have picked up some accent... That's the 3rd time in the last 3 months or so I've been told that. Sister walker (a missionary who went home last...
