week 21

This was a super stressful week, but I survived! We had a lot going on, but the breaker was transfer calls:( I'll be leaving this area and going to the Pellissippi/Farragut area. I'm super sad about that. I have loved being in this area so much and it's going to be hard leaving the YSA and the bearden ward. The families in the Breaden ward have been so loving and its the closest to home i've felt on the mission so far. Everyone is so nice and I am having a hard time accepting that I'm leaving haha. I feel so disorganized and scattered right now, so im just going to give a quick rundown of my week day by day
Tuesday: we had a super awesome lesson with Claire today and I was so excited for her baptism. She is so spiritual and she loves the book of mormon. I also always feel so good around her cuz she's always giving me compliments and hyping me up😂 I love her. We also had our interviews with president today which I was nervous for. I was also stressed cuz we had to plan re-film our video from last week cuz all the footage got deleted, we also had to plan a mission wide training for Friday, and we had to plan Claire's baptism. I was so overwhelmed 😅

Wed: We had a big SMS meeting today and that stressed me out even more cuz we were trying to plan the training while figuring out what was wrong with the ads we published cuz they weren't doing well. But by the end of the meeting, I still had some brain cells left. We taught some awesome lessons today and I see a lot of potential with the people we taught today

Thurs: we had district council and spent a lot of the day planning and organizing Claire's baptism on Saturday. We also had lots of meetings for our ads, including one with a trainer in Utah. But I got to go to institute on campus which was refreshing cuz we haven't gone in 3 weeks.

Fri: we filmed the music video finally! It went well and it was actually super fun. I love love love playing the cello and it was very therapeutic to be honest. It took a while to film it and we had to drag the piano outside haha. We got to teach a lady named natasha today and she is so cool! She left the church when she was in her teens, and she doesn't remember much, so we are getting to reteach her everything and she loves it. We want to get her rebaptized.

Sat: lots of lessons today!! We even got to do service for a lady. We helped her clean out her house which was interesting, but she had a cute little shih tzu that looked like a tan version of gizmo, so that made me way happy!! She is so sweet and we are going to help her once a week
We had transfer calls today and that was depressing. I was convinced I was staying, but it turns out I'm leaving, so that's sad.

Sun: Claire came to church today!! It was so good to see her! AND... I GOT TO SEE JESSICA!!!!!!!! She came here all the way from Utah for the summer and she drove over an hour to come to church and see meeeee. My heart was pounding so much hours before I saw her cuz I was so excited!

Mon(today): today was a good day! We got to spend the day at a bbq with members and i played cards with them! It was also Tommy's birthday!!!! I sent him a video of Emerson and Claire telling him happy birthday:) Emerson is the cutest little boy that loves to talk and talk and talk haha.

Overall, I'm excited for this next phase of my mission, even tho I wanted to stay here. I trust that the lord will help me revive the "dead" area that I'm headed to!

Week 73

Wow this was a fast week... It's getting real yall. It was a really good week tho! Zone Conference! My very last zone conference😢 I gave my departing testimony and it was weird to be on that side of it because my whole mission I've been watching other missionaries give their departing testimonies and now all of a sudden it was me! But it was a really spiritual experience and I loved it. The rest of this week was super duper good! Lots of small miracles that lifted my spirits. We are finding quite a few new people to teach and I'm actually really excited about them! There was this one guy we talked to on his porch in passing, and we invited him to church, but then the phone number he gave us didn't work. BUT he showed up to church 6 days later!! I gave a talk in sacrament and after the meeting he asked if he could have a book of mormon 😱 his name is James and he is so cool!! We also prayed really hard on Friday that we could plant a lot of seeds...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...
