Week 23

Another week done! (Disclaimer: I only took 3 pictures this week, and 1 of them was of a map, so that's why there's only 2 pics) 
We had a baptism on Saturday! It's the first baptism this area has had in 3 years, so that's super exciting! Her name is Julie and she is 10 years old. She is so sweet and she was smiling so much at her baptism. Sister Blackard is the sweetest cuz she braided her hair for the baptism and we went over before church to braid her hair again because she loved them so much. It was the sweetest thing. She got confirmed on Sunday and she was smiling so big the whole time:) so that was definitely the highlight of my week! 
We spent a lot of time trying to get to know the new Farragut area which has been stressful but awesome! We had a lesson with a guy named Jacob and the spirit was so strong. He has a lot of potential, so stay tuned for another baptism;) 
That was basically my week! Today was an awesome pday too! I got to play pickleball in 90° weather, get sunburned, go to a members house and play the piano, guitar, and a SUPER nice cello, go to the store but not buy anything (not even any groceries) cuz I only had $2.64, and call my family! Being a missionary is great:)

Week 58

WOW THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME!! I love my new companion, and I love my new area, I love my new ward, I love my new (super fancy) apartment, I love EVERYTHING!!! I had so many highlights this week, so I'll just start listing them out in no specific order. I got to go to the Temple!!!!!!! 😆🤑🥳 Yall it's bee  SO long and it was the best feeling walking into the teeny tiny Nashville temple. It was the best feeling of "coming home". I BEG yall to not take the temple for granted. I will be spending all my free time there whenever I can. We went with a sweet lady named Shannon Adam's who was baptized recently with her kids. It was her first time going to the temple and we got to all do baptisms. She was so nervous and when we pulled up into the parking lot she showed me her shaking hands and said "I am so excited, but so nervous!" It was the sweetest thing ever. Week 41

Hello everyone! another week down! Here are some cool things that happened this week: We went to go visit a lady named Kylene and she was really confused who we were, but after a while, it all of a sudden clicked and she just lit up saying how excited she was to come to church again! Apparently her grandma who passed away like 20 years ago was a member of the church and she used to go with her all the time! So everyone please pray for Kylene that she can feel welcomed and have a desire to learn and be baptized. She was so awesome and she has so much potential! So THANK YOU to all y'all who prayed for finding miracles, cuz it is working!!!  On Saturday we went to a fall festival in soddy daisy and there was this really nice guy working at a booth who bought us a funnel cake! He was so cool! Walking around all the markets and booths/tents, we got a lot of weird looks and we even had one guy call us nuns 😂 I said "almost, haha, we are missionaries!" Week 64

Well sister Oldroyd is shipped off to Chattanooga 😥 BUT I love my new companion, sister Chan! I'm glad I get to serve with her and we are having so much fun! This week it was really a struggle to get return appointments with the people we are teaching and holy moly, it is a never ending battle and it makes me want to lose my mind sometimes. I love these people so so much, but I get really tired if spending time trying to chase them down to have a lesson😂I just want to consistently teach someone, BUT it's not about what I want, it's about how God wants to use me as his hands. And I guess right now he is needing me to do a LOT of seed planting. After a long week of seed planting, I am eager to pick fruit, but unfortunately it takes a lot of time. The beginning of the week consisted of going around and saying goodbye to people since sister Oldroyd is leaving. So we took a lot of pics with members and friends.
