Week 31

This week was good! Nothing crazy happened, but we did get bashed by a baptist preacher for about an hour, and that was actually pretty entertaining! Its hard to just take the punches, but we know that explaining things would only start an argument, so we just sit and listen until we can find a good break to leave. But I still love the people here so much! No amount of baptist preacher bashing can change that.

Our teaching pool is a little bit empty right now which has been hard. The lady who we had on date to be baptized dropped us over text which was really sad. But we know she'll be ready at a different time! Michael who was baptized a few weeks ago is preparing to go to the temple! We are so excited for him! If I'm still in the area I'll get to go with him as well! I went to a book of Mormon study on Tuesday and there was a gal there that recognized me because she served with my older sister, Haley in Oklahoma it was pretty crazy but it was fun to have another little connection!

I've done a lot of video editing for the videos we are posting on Facebook called "With The Gospel". They are doing really well, and I figured out the editing software! I was pretty happy about that because I've never even touched Adobe premiere pro before.

We are still teaching Guang and Stephanie and they are so amazing! They are working on their testimony of God, because they are from China and have never believed in God or Jesus Christ before. They are soaking it all in and the progress they are making is amazing. I don't know if they see it, but I can definitely see the change that this knowledge of the Gospel has been making in their lives. Their home seems to be happier and it has the spirit there. I can't wait for the day were they accept the full Gospel of Jesus Christ by being baptized.

We had zone conference this week which was really awesome, and we had a sister's safety conference with all the sister missionaries in the mission. It was basically a self-defense class and mental health course and ended up being five and a half hours.. very long but very informative! I got to watch president Graham be tackled to the floor like three times which was very entertaining and probably the first and only time I'll get to witness that πŸ˜‚
On Sunday I got to see Jessica again! She's headed back to Utah which is sad because I liked knowing that we were in the same state haha. But I'm excited to see her next summer! It was honestly much needed seeing her on Sunday and her spirit just lifted me and she makes me so happy:)
Thank you to everyone who has reached out and shown your support! It really means a lot and I'm so grateful to be a missionary. Don't forget this week to look for opportunities to serve others! It goes a lot further than you think it would:) talk to y'all next week!

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their doorπŸ˜… so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 28

This week was a wild one! We had transfers, 2 baptisms on sunday, and we went to a non denominational rock band church.  My new companion is Sister Goodman and she is AWESOME!! She has taught me what it really means to work hard!πŸ’ͺ I am thriving with her and I hope we get more than one transfer together!! Two cute kids named Madelyn and Landon were baptized on Sunday! They have been being taught for a while now and it was such a cute baptism!  We did a church song with one of our friends named mary, and so we got to go to her non-denominational church service! It was very different! I've never experienced anything quite like it, but it's cool to now understand what other people are talking about when they talk about their rock band churches πŸ₯³ let's just say I had a headache for a few hours afterwards haha. Other than that, this week was a busy one full of teaching and planning! We are making a lot of progress with SMS and running the social media pages. It's a lot of w...
