Week 35

Wow what a week! It went by sooo fast which I guess is a good thing! The days were long but the week flew by.
So this week has been a week of people dropping us. Most of our progressing people we had to stop teaching because they basically told us they aren't interested or they aren't willing to change. It's really hard because now we are in a teaching drought and each day is a completely empty day that we try to fill meaningfully. So prayers to help us find new people to teach would be greatly appreciated!

The elders had a baptism and I got to go to to that which was really refreshing and re-motivated me. Not teaching any lessons in a day can get really discouraging and it's hard not to compare yourself to other missionaries or other areas. But for now I pray, work hard, and expect miracles!

On Tuesday I had dinner with Katherine Hunter!! (Hobbes now haha). She lived in Caldwell with us in the same ward and close to our house! She said she remembers babysitting me too haha! So that was super fun to have a little piece of idahome:) her dog is soooo funny and she was scared of me because I blew in her face, so she wouldn't come near me😂

I went on exchanged on Wednesday and I got to spend the day in Georgia! So now I can say I've been to Georgia haha. I went with Sister Wiser, and she is awesome!! I really hope I get to be her companion eventually 🙏 we went to this ladys house and she had this tiny shih tzu who's tounge was always hanging out and I loved the dang thing😂 she just wanted me to scratch her the whole time, so I happily did! The lady also showed me a shirt that she just got that says "I shih tzu not" lol.
One more animal story, we pulled up at the trailer park and when I opened my door, this little cat jumped right in at my feet and wouldnt get out. Sister Kirkman picked it up (cuz I don't like cats) then when I got out of the car, I went to close the door and the cat jumped up into my seat and laid down haha it wouldn't move. Thank goodness I have a comp that doesn't mind touching cats and killing bugs (we still have a lot of bugs in our apartment 😬)
As for my comp and I, we are still loving being together! She is awesome and we have a lot of fun:)
That was my week this week! Nothing too crazy, but hopefully this week crazy things happen cuz we need miracles in Hixson! I love you all and thank you for all the prayers and support!❤️
this Random lady saw we were the missionaries and purchased our bath and body works stuff!

Week 40

Not a lot happened this week, but it was supposed to be transfers, except for that I'm staying!! Side note, Sister Garbett's new companion (named sister Phillips) is SO awesome!! We actually have a lot in common and we have mutual friends from BYU and high school! Our little sisters are also so similar which is crazy, we both pulled up a picture and their outfits were almost the same hahaha.  But anyways, here are some cool things that I learned this week: --> Always always always follow promptings (if it's a good prompting, cuz if it's good, it's from God). Promptings are gateways for God to work miracles in our lives, but we have to act first. I'm still working on that, but I've seen it give me so much more confidence in the work I'm doing cuz I know that I'm not doing it alone:) --> Make friends and don't be afraid to share the gospel. When friendship comes first, sharing the gospel is a lot easier. That's one downfall with missionar...

Week 66

Hello everyone!! Happy late Easter! I hope everyone had an amazing Sunday, cuz I sure did!! Holidays on the mission are a little hard (for me at least), but this one was actually pretty good! The church service was amazing and it was PACKED. I felt like I was back in a Utah ward because there were so many people! Here are some reasons it was a great easter: Some friends we are teaching came to church! Donna who is a somewhat lonely older lady came and wore one of sister chan's dresses and she cried during the service and even sang one of the songs, which was huge. Donna is going through a lot right now, but I think she felt a moment of peace when she was at church.  Afterwards we went to the Gildays (a member that I'm close with ) to have lunch and a little scripture study. Isabel was there and that was fun hehe her and I are crazy. I don't know if I've "introduced" Isabel, but she is 19 and was just baptized in January. She moved here and almost i...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...
