Week 36

There was a lot that happened this week!
We had a big zone devotional that was kind of like zone confernece, but it was just our zone (ZC usually has 2 or 3 zones). And while we were there, I GOT TO SEE ELDER WILLIAMS!!!!! I cannot tell you how happy this made me, I miss him so much.
I miss the SMS team:( So sister garbett and I got to take a picture with him and he said that he wants us both back on the SMS team so bad. It was sad, but it was SO good to see him again!! We also had interviews with president and for some reason I was really nervous for that. But my interview went very well and president was able to talk me through a lot of my concerns because I have been having a lot of doubt floating through my mind recently. But he said all the things I needed to hear and it helped SO much! President Graham is such an amazing person and I feel lucky to have him as my mission president.
Oh another little thing I was proud of, I made my companion and I fish tacos for lunch on Tuesday and they actually turned out really good! I had no idea what I was doing, but they were delicious (and pretty hehe I put in a picture)
Another thing that happened which was really odd, my eyes are hemorrhaging and I've had a constant headache from the pressure since Friday. I woke up on Friday and I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head. The pressure was so bad and my eyes were so swollen. Throughout the morning the swelling went down, but then my companion noticed that the corners of my eyes were red and my eyes looked bruised. It kinda freaked me out, and by Saturday the blood in my eye had spread significantly haha it looks creepy! I'll also attach some pictures haha. It's in both my eyes and I've had a constant headache for 3 days now and my eyes hurt looking to the side, reading, driving, looking at a screen ,to be honest it hurts to even use my eyes which kinda sucks cuz there is no way I can avoid that 😂 it's very uncomfy and painful, but if it's just broken blood vessels, it should go away in about 2-3 weeks. It's just the headache and constant pressure that sucks (and scaring little kids haha).
On Thursday we had a really neat experience with Krista! Krista is one of our friends who wasn't really progressing but she didn't want us to stop coming by. But on Thursday she texted us and said the pain she was having in her knees hips and back was excruciating and she didn't know what to do. So we got 2 members to come with us and give her a preisthood blessing. We explained what a priesthood blessing was and she seemed to be amazed! After the blessing she stretched out her hand and said "look! I'm not shaking!" It was so cool, and I new the blessing would work because her faith is so strong. Then after the brothers left, we stayed and talked with her for a little bit and she started testifying of the priesthood, and that turned into her teaching US about Joseph Smith and how he really is a prophet of god. She told us how much she relates to him and respects him. Her testimony of Joseph Smith blows me out of the water. Now that the priesthood is a real tangible thing to her, she made the connection of Joseph Smith and the priesthood and then she started making connections of how the book of Mormon and the Bible support each other. It was so cool cuz you could just see everything coming together for her.
I am loving this area and my companion! I'm trying hard not to miss Knoxville because it definitely has a piece of my heart ❤️
I love y'all and I hope all is going well!

Week 73

Wow this was a fast week... It's getting real yall. It was a really good week tho! Zone Conference! My very last zone conference😢 I gave my departing testimony and it was weird to be on that side of it because my whole mission I've been watching other missionaries give their departing testimonies and now all of a sudden it was me! But it was a really spiritual experience and I loved it. The rest of this week was super duper good! Lots of small miracles that lifted my spirits. We are finding quite a few new people to teach and I'm actually really excited about them! There was this one guy we talked to on his porch in passing, and we invited him to church, but then the phone number he gave us didn't work. BUT he showed up to church 6 days later!! I gave a talk in sacrament and after the meeting he asked if he could have a book of mormon 😱 his name is James and he is so cool!! We also prayed really hard on Friday that we could plant a lot of seeds...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...
