Week 37

Week 37
This week FLEW! I can't believe it's already Monday!! Here are some highlights from this week:
Zone conference! Fun as always, and good to see everyone! Being around other missionaries always hypes me up. I also got to see Elder and Sister Williams again😁❤️
We have a mission wide devotional on Sunday!!! This is the first time ever that the ENTIRE mission has all gathered at one place and at same time!!! And this will probably be the last time it happens too! So I got to go back to Farragut/Pellissippi!! Aaaaaaand I got to see Elder Williams AGAIN!! Ah it makes me so happy!! It was way cool to be in a room with the entire mission. The spirit was so strong, I LOVE THE TKM 💪🔥 There was about 170 missionaries there and at the end of the meeting we all sang the mission song (it's also the efy medley, it's As Sister's In Zion and We'll Bring The World His Truth) and WOW it was booming and at the end of the song everyone was in tears including president. I feel so lucky to have been able to experience this, cuz there is NOTHING that has come close to the feeling that was in that room as 170 set apart missionaries all stood to sing. It almost felt like Christ was just going to walk in and take a seat next to President Graham and smile at all of us. Man, it was incredible
Something else that happened was we put our friend Krista on date to be baptized and she is SO excited for baptism and won't stop talking about it haha it is so cute. She said she can't wait to be a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints:) buuuut sadly we got a text on Sunday and she said that she moved like 10 minutes down the road, but since she originally lived right by the border of our area, she is no longer in our area 😭 that made us mega sad and we are really worried that this will effect her baptism... But it will all work out! Keep Krista in your prayers!

We called this random lady who had contact with missionaries in the past a long time ago and she talked to us on the phone for 56 minutes😂😂 I love southerners.. Mind you, we didn't talk at all.. she did all the talking, we may be said 2 sentences the whole time. Sister kirkman and I took turns listening and saying "oh", "mmhmm", "that's crazy", "wow", "yeah" and so on so forth while the other person ate some food😂 then we'd switch😂 we invited her to church and she said she'd bring her friend with her, but then she didn't come 😑 but I still love her!

Eye update from last week: my eye is still red but it's much better! No pain, no headache, and my vision is normal! So that's good!!
I love you all so much!!! Thank you for everything and all the prayers 🤗 JESUS LOVES YOU!!!

Week 40

Not a lot happened this week, but it was supposed to be transfers, except for that I'm staying!! Side note, Sister Garbett's new companion (named sister Phillips) is SO awesome!! We actually have a lot in common and we have mutual friends from BYU and high school! Our little sisters are also so similar which is crazy, we both pulled up a picture and their outfits were almost the same hahaha.  But anyways, here are some cool things that I learned this week: --> Always always always follow promptings (if it's a good prompting, cuz if it's good, it's from God). Promptings are gateways for God to work miracles in our lives, but we have to act first. I'm still working on that, but I've seen it give me so much more confidence in the work I'm doing cuz I know that I'm not doing it alone:) --> Make friends and don't be afraid to share the gospel. When friendship comes first, sharing the gospel is a lot easier. That's one downfall with missionar...

Week 66

Hello everyone!! Happy late Easter! I hope everyone had an amazing Sunday, cuz I sure did!! Holidays on the mission are a little hard (for me at least), but this one was actually pretty good! The church service was amazing and it was PACKED. I felt like I was back in a Utah ward because there were so many people! Here are some reasons it was a great easter: Some friends we are teaching came to church! Donna who is a somewhat lonely older lady came and wore one of sister chan's dresses and she cried during the service and even sang one of the songs, which was huge. Donna is going through a lot right now, but I think she felt a moment of peace when she was at church.  Afterwards we went to the Gildays (a member that I'm close with ) to have lunch and a little scripture study. Isabel was there and that was fun hehe her and I are crazy. I don't know if I've "introduced" Isabel, but she is 19 and was just baptized in January. She moved here and almost i...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...
