Week 43

Week 43:

This week was full of a lot of random occurrences ๐Ÿ˜‚ we did so much service this again week, but we got scammed by a lady in Ohio... She works for an insurance restoration company and long story short, she used us so she didn't have to pay landscapers for one of her projects, and it took us 8 hours. She said we weren't allowed to say we were from the church and to not wear our tags, and if any one asked, we should say we were from a landscaping company... It was so bad. And after 6 hours of backbreaking work (my back has never hurt so bad), the homeowner pulls up and starts complaining about what she doesn't like. Not cool... We were absolutely exhausted and pretty frustrated, and when we got home to finally rest for a second, our entire apartment reeked of weed. Like bad. It gave me a headache, but there wasn't anything we could have done about it. But we survived!
On a more positive note, we went to the Stewart-Walls house on Friday to carve pumpkins and have dinner and that was so much fun!! This family is one that I have grown really close to these last 2 transfers. The 2 girls love the missionaries and greet us like best friends. Their names are Xandra and Qelsi. We went to the ward trunk or treat, and that was so fun!! There was a pumpkin carving contest, and I got 3rd place๐Ÿ˜‚ it was pretty funny. I got a trophy, but there was so sense in keeping it, so I signed the bottom of it and have it to Qelsi and Xandra ๐Ÿ˜‚ they were so happy about it haha. We helped with the Poston's trunk and it is sponge Bob themed haha! My companion and I couldn't dress up as anything, so we just switched name tags for the day๐Ÿ˜‚
We spent a lot of time with our friend named Sandy this week. Her son was in the hospital for a few days and she was there the entire time with him, so we stopped by for a little over an hour to give her some company and teach her. Then 2 days later we went over to her house and helped her with some yardwork. Her cute 5 year old granddaughter was there and I wish I could adopt her cuz she was the sweetest girl ever. She was only 5 but she already had a southern accent and it was adorable. She would come give me huge hugs and say "I love you!" When we left she yelled "bye y'all!" Haha it was cute.
Sister Garbett, Sister Phillips, and Sierra did the one chip challenge and it was SO entertaining๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I am so glad I didn't do it, cuz they were in so much pain. I got the whole thing on video tho!๐Ÿ˜‚
But yeah! I enjoyed this week! Sorry this email is all over the place, I'll include some good spiritual insight next week๐Ÿ˜…sorry y'all
Have a great week! Look for opportunities to share something happy this week:)

Week 58

WOW THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME!! I love my new companion, and I love my new area, I love my new ward, I love my new (super fancy) apartment, I love EVERYTHING!!! I had so many highlights this week, so I'll just start listing them out in no specific order. I got to go to the Temple!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿฅณ Yall it's bee  SO long and it was the best feeling walking into the teeny tiny Nashville temple. It was the best feeling of "coming home". I BEG yall to not take the temple for granted. I will be spending all my free time there whenever I can. We went with a sweet lady named Shannon Adam's who was baptized recently with her kids. It was her first time going to the temple and we got to all do baptisms. She was so nervous and when we pulled up into the parking lot she showed me her shaking hands and said "I am so excited, but so nervous!" It was the sweetest thing ever. She enjoyed every second of it! I have only known her for a few days, but I already feel s...

Week 41

Hello everyone! another week down! Here are some cool things that happened this week: We went to go visit a lady named Kylene and she was really confused who we were, but after a while, it all of a sudden clicked and she just lit up saying how excited she was to come to church again! Apparently her grandma who passed away like 20 years ago was a member of the church and she used to go with her all the time! So everyone please pray for Kylene that she can feel welcomed and have a desire to learn and be baptized. She was so awesome and she has so much potential! So THANK YOU to all y'all who prayed for finding miracles, cuz it is working!!!  On Saturday we went to a fall festival in soddy daisy and there was this really nice guy working at a booth who bought us a funnel cake! He was so cool! Walking around all the markets and booths/tents, we got a lot of weird looks and we even had one guy call us nuns ๐Ÿ˜‚ I said "almost, haha, we are missionaries!" That was my 3rd time be...

Week 64

Well sister Oldroyd is shipped off to Chattanooga ๐Ÿ˜ฅ BUT I love my new companion, sister Chan! I'm glad I get to serve with her and we are having so much fun! This week it was really a struggle to get return appointments with the people we are teaching and holy moly, it is a never ending battle and it makes me want to lose my mind sometimes. I love these people so so much, but I get really tired if spending time trying to chase them down to have a lesson๐Ÿ˜‚I just want to consistently teach someone, BUT it's not about what I want, it's about how God wants to use me as his hands. And I guess right now he is needing me to do a LOT of seed planting. After a long week of seed planting, I am eager to pick fruit, but unfortunately it takes a lot of time. The beginning of the week consisted of going around and saying goodbye to people since sister Oldroyd is leaving. So we took a lot of pics with members and friends. I'm glad I'm not the one leaving because I am getting kind...
