Week 43

Week 43:

This week was full of a lot of random occurrences ๐Ÿ˜‚ we did so much service this again week, but we got scammed by a lady in Ohio... She works for an insurance restoration company and long story short, she used us so she didn't have to pay landscapers for one of her projects, and it took us 8 hours. She said we weren't allowed to say we were from the church and to not wear our tags, and if any one asked, we should say we were from a landscaping company... It was so bad. And after 6 hours of backbreaking work (my back has never hurt so bad), the homeowner pulls up and starts complaining about what she doesn't like. Not cool... We were absolutely exhausted and pretty frustrated, and when we got home to finally rest for a second, our entire apartment reeked of weed. Like bad. It gave me a headache, but there wasn't anything we could have done about it. But we survived!
On a more positive note, we went to the Stewart-Walls house on Friday to carve pumpkins and have dinner and that was so much fun!! This family is one that I have grown really close to these last 2 transfers. The 2 girls love the missionaries and greet us like best friends. Their names are Xandra and Qelsi. We went to the ward trunk or treat, and that was so fun!! There was a pumpkin carving contest, and I got 3rd place๐Ÿ˜‚ it was pretty funny. I got a trophy, but there was so sense in keeping it, so I signed the bottom of it and have it to Qelsi and Xandra ๐Ÿ˜‚ they were so happy about it haha. We helped with the Poston's trunk and it is sponge Bob themed haha! My companion and I couldn't dress up as anything, so we just switched name tags for the day๐Ÿ˜‚
We spent a lot of time with our friend named Sandy this week. Her son was in the hospital for a few days and she was there the entire time with him, so we stopped by for a little over an hour to give her some company and teach her. Then 2 days later we went over to her house and helped her with some yardwork. Her cute 5 year old granddaughter was there and I wish I could adopt her cuz she was the sweetest girl ever. She was only 5 but she already had a southern accent and it was adorable. She would come give me huge hugs and say "I love you!" When we left she yelled "bye y'all!" Haha it was cute.
Sister Garbett, Sister Phillips, and Sierra did the one chip challenge and it was SO entertaining๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I am so glad I didn't do it, cuz they were in so much pain. I got the whole thing on video tho!๐Ÿ˜‚
But yeah! I enjoyed this week! Sorry this email is all over the place, I'll include some good spiritual insight next week๐Ÿ˜…sorry y'all
Have a great week! Look for opportunities to share something happy this week:)

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start ๐Ÿ˜‚ so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

Week 17

This has actually been a pretty awesome week! Miracles have definitely happened. One of the things that was the highlight, was that we were able to get our friend Claire on date to be baptized! Claire is the sweetest human ever. She is from the phillipines and was super curious about our church after the missionaries accidentally called her when they were given the wrong number by someone else. It has been so cool teaching her because when we first started teaching her, you could tell that there was a lot of confusion in her life and she was missing something. The more we taught her about the restored gospel, the more she got curious and excited to learn more. It was SO cool to witness that! She is doing so much studying on her own, and that has made her progression so much quicker. I love her soooo much!! On the flip side, I got so so so sick on tuesday and wednesday. Tuesday it was bad, I was struggling to breath on the couch during a zoom and I felt like garbage, so my comps said i ...
