Week 51

MERRY CHRISTMAS YALL!!πŸ˜„☃️❤️πŸŽ…πŸŽ„✨ I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas! My Christmas was good, but it kinda felt like a regular day, it definitely didn't feel like the Christmas I'm used to cuz there was no snow! But I still had an enjoyable week!
As yall know, this is sister booth's (my companion) last few days as a missionary so we are trying to soak everything in. We all wore purple to district council cuz it is her favorite color:) we also all brought our tech decks (the mini skateboards) haha our district is trying to get the whole mission to get them. I bought one and Elder karren gave it to President Graham πŸ˜‚
Highlights of this week:
Transfer calls!! I will be staying in Hixson once again! I got here in August, and I won't be leaving until February... I am happy to be staying with the Hixson ward, but I'm desperately needing a change because time is starting to move in slow motion. So I'm going to try reading the book of mormon just for speed. My entire mission I have been studying slowly and deeply but not reading it front to back for familiarity. So I'm going to do that this transfer to mix things up! I wish I did this sooner into my mission because it's a good way to recognize where things are in the book of mormon and the sequence of events. Our mission is encouraging missionaries to read the book of mormon in 65 days, which is about the same amount of time that it took Joseph Smith to translate the book of mormon. So it any of yall have some extra time, you should hop on the challenge! I'll attach a picture of the reading challenge map that shows you what you have to read to stay on track.
Christmas zone conference! We got together in farragut with the whole entire mission and that revived me. We had lots of speakers, tons of musical numbers, and hilarious skits at the endπŸ˜‚ each zone had to do a skit and I was laughing so hard, holy moly it was fantastic. President Graham also changed into so many different suits throughout the conference. A neon orange one (Go Vols!), a red one, a green one, and then he mixed the red and the green. And he had light up shoes and a hat. My mission president is literally a LEGEND. I respect him so much haha.
The members this week took us in like family this week. It was so sweet of them. The Barrotts had all their kids and grandkids over for dinner and a white elephant on the 23rd and they had us there for it! And they have a tradition where they all gather around the piano and sing Christmas songs. I felt like I was at home and it made me so happy:) on the 24th, the postons (the cutest little family) had us over for Christmas even dinner and we acted out the nativity. Since we are in a trio, we were the 3 wise men haha. We decorated cookies too and just had a good time.
The on Christmas day, an older couple had us over for Christmas breakfast for lunch and sister Johnson cross stitched us all little quotes in a picture frame. It was so sweet:) then we went over to the Stewart-Walls for Christmas dinner!! Now that was so fun! We played uno flip and it got heated. The elders were there with us which always adds to the fun!! It was just overall a really good Christmas weekend! From a missionary's perspective, a little bit of love goes a long long way!
I'm so grateful for the kindness of the people around me. Most of the time I feel so undeserving of it, but it definitely does not go unnoticed.

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their doorπŸ˜… so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start πŸ˜‚ so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
