Week 53

It was a busy busy week, but it made the time fly!
Last Tuesday I hit my 1 year!!! 🥳 It was such a good day and we went out to eat, and God was good to me... the restaurant TV  was playing tennis, and I got to see Nadal's beautiful face🫠 and then one of my favorite songs came on in the restaurant too!! It was too good to be true lolll. As a missionary you come to appreciate the little things so much more. We also had an amazing lesson with our friends Jenny and Roel. Jenny wants to be baptized, but she is praying about a date. So please pray for her that she can hold on to that desire!

Also, side note, our apartment has an unreal roach infestation. Like bad. We kill about 15 baby roaches with our fingers a day. Big roaches are always all over our counters, in our bathrooms, everywhere in the pantry and drawers. Even in the microwave. The only place I haven't seen them is in the fridge, so that's good! I'm so used to them that I kill them with my fingers now. But it's the whole building that's infested, not just our apartment... So there's nothing we can do 😗✌️

As for the rest of the week, we had MLC (mission leadership council) and we talked about the data in our mission and how we can flip it, cuz it's not looking too good. It was kind of a stressful meeting to be in and i felt pretty overwhelmed afterwards. But I'm still gonna try and be the best leader I can be without feeling like I have to change the entire mission.
I also had an overnight exchange in knoxville and we met the coolest guy  amed bryan. We started talking to him while he was working on his car and at first he wasn't interested, but then he started expressing some really good questions he had about God. Turns out, there was something that he has been wrestling with for over 2 years that has taken joy out of his life, and I had almost the exact same thing happen to me. I shared my experience with him and how I overcame it with the gospel and christ, and he was intrigued. It was cool how God sent me 2 hours away to Knoxville, for one day, in that area, in that neighborhood, down that street, while he was working outside, just so we could meet because my story matched his. God is a very smart fella and that was a mini testimony builder for me that God is in the details.

Then the next day I had another exchange about an hour away in Athens. I spent the day with sister griffiths (from Mapleton UT😁) and we had a lot of fun. She is such a hard worker and deals with anything that is thrown at her. I still want to be her companion:)
I'm loving life rn and I love sister Stevens! She is such a fun companion and always had good intentions with every little thing she does  and I am always happy when I'm around her! Thank the lord Jesus above, I'm so blessed (that's how you say you are grateful here).

I am looking forward to another week to work hard with sister Stevens! I can't say it enough, she is the BEST. Life is good and God is great🥰

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start 😂 so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
