week 54

Fred got baptized!! The elders have been teaching him and he is the most amazing person ever. He is so sweet and so friendly to everyone.
This week we spent a lot of time trying to find new people to teach. We've found quite a few not so nice people ๐Ÿ˜… lots of people were pretty hostile, lots of closed doors this week, But my spirits are still high! Sister stevens and I are learning to ebjoy all the other small good things in life since things aren't really going the way we want them to teaching-wise. I'm still having fun tho!
We had Interviews with President this week and I told him that I don't want to leave Hixson and he chuckled (so basically I'm leaving next transfer)... I love this ward SO MUCH. Speaking of the ward, I went to Katherine Hobbs Baby shower and that was super fun! I felt like I was at a family gathering cuz I knew all of the people that were there. I've also gotten to the point where I can tell who is visiting on sundays because I know the whole ward. Its awesome, but I know it won't last long...
We had a lesson with Jenny and we found out she is moving at the end of this month๐Ÿ˜ญ I was crushed, but I know the missionaries there will treat her well.
We have zone conference tomorrow and I am SO nervous because they are doing roleplays in from of the whole zone. So pray that I won't get called on....
But I don't have much else to say for this week! I'm looking forward to this next week!

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start ๐Ÿ˜‚ so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

Week 17

This has actually been a pretty awesome week! Miracles have definitely happened. One of the things that was the highlight, was that we were able to get our friend Claire on date to be baptized! Claire is the sweetest human ever. She is from the phillipines and was super curious about our church after the missionaries accidentally called her when they were given the wrong number by someone else. It has been so cool teaching her because when we first started teaching her, you could tell that there was a lot of confusion in her life and she was missing something. The more we taught her about the restored gospel, the more she got curious and excited to learn more. It was SO cool to witness that! She is doing so much studying on her own, and that has made her progression so much quicker. I love her soooo much!! On the flip side, I got so so so sick on tuesday and wednesday. Tuesday it was bad, I was struggling to breath on the couch during a zoom and I felt like garbage, so my comps said i ...
