Week 55

This was a stressful week. Tons of meeting and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I spent about 11 hours in training meetings this week and my brain is gonna explode cuz there is a lot of stress and pressures😵 I'm still enjoying the work and I'm happy, I just have super high expectations, almost to the point where they just seem like a dream rather than a goal. But I'm counting on God to provide a ladder cuz I can't jump that high!!
This week we had zone conference and stake coordination which usually don't happen in the same week. Zone conference was good, but I didn't feel super hyped afterwards like I normally do. Stake coordination was a lot less stressful than it was last time. It's crazy to see the being the scenes of how much the stake does for each ward on an individual level. The stake loves, cares, and it aware of every individual with a calling and we go in depth to help any struggling unit. The more behind the scenes I see, the more grateful and amazed I am for this amazing church that we have. It could NOT have been set up like it is today without God himself stepping in, which he has done through prophets! I know this is the true church and there are so many reasons why I know that, but seeing how much the leaders care is a testimony to me.
This week we taught a lot of lessons! It was really refreshing to be busy with lessons! ALSO!!! I know I've been asking for prayers for finding new people to teach, and many miracles have happened because of your prayers!! Our teaching pool has nearly doubled and we found this super cool family, the Ledlows. It is a family of 6 and they aren't going to a church and weren't raised super religious, so they have TONS of potential. Prayers for them would be appreciated 😊 we also are having lots of ward members work with their friends and sharing the gospel. The amount of effort that this ward puts into missionary work is incredible. I've learned a lot from this ward about what kind of member I want to be when I go home. I want to be reliable, hardworking, selfless, always up for a challenge, always looking to serve others, and I want to give my callings my all. I've learned so much from the Hixson ward! Whether you think it or not, there is someone looking up to you are watching and learning from you, so always be a christ like example even when you think no one is looking. Life is better that way!!
I can't thank yall enough for the prayers, they really do all the difference!
Also.... I never thought this day would come..... A member told me that I picked up a tiny bit of southern pronunciations... Oh no... I don't hear it, but she said she does🫣

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start 😂 so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
