Week 58

WOW THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME!! I love my new companion, and I love my new area, I love my new ward, I love my new (super fancy) apartment, I love EVERYTHING!!! I had so many highlights this week, so I'll just start listing them out in no specific order.
I got to go to the Temple!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿฅณ Yall it's bee  SO long and it was the best feeling walking into the teeny tiny Nashville temple. It was the best feeling of "coming home". I BEG yall to not take the temple for granted. I will be spending all my free time there whenever I can. We went with a sweet lady named Shannon Adam's who was baptized recently with her kids. It was her first time going to the temple and we got to all do baptisms. She was so nervous and when we pulled up into the parking lot she showed me her shaking hands and said "I am so excited, but so nervous!" It was the sweetest thing ever. She enjoyed every second of it! I have only known her for a few days, but I already feel such a deep connection and friendship with her❤️ we went with a bunch of other recently baptized members and I got to here some of their stories and it was so neat. They come from crazy backgrounds, and to see where they are now shows how POWERFUL the gospel can be. It was an amazing day and I felt so uplifted and edified.

Rewinding to the beginning of the week, leaving Hixson was the hardest thing ever. I visited some members to say goodbye and it broke my heart to leave them. When I said goodbye to the Stewart-walls, Qelsi started crying when she hugged me and it made me want to take her with me๐Ÿฅบ I love these people so much and it actually hurt to leave. I promised all the them that I will come back to visit them, and that was the only thing that made it a little bit easier to go. I'll miss Hixson so much, but they will forever have my heart.
Last Pday we went out with the district and got sushi as our last hurrah. Then later that night, brother rector took me, sister Stevens, elder Hopkins, and elder jenkins out for dinner at champy's. It's the super fun restaurant with the dollar bills covering all the walls. We all signed a dollar that I had and we taped it to the wall too๐Ÿ˜ I'm gonna miss this little group. They are amazing. Brother rector had absolutely changed me with his example of selflessness and humility. He is ALWAYS doing kind things for other people and never takes credit for any of it. It blows my mind how christ like he is. I'll miss him, but I will keep in touch with him and the other members that I love so much

The Cookeville ward is also blowing my mind with how missionary minded they are. I could go on and on, but basically they are doing all the work for us! If christ were to come tomorrow to train all the members of the church how to be "member missionaries", I'm pretty sure he would use this ward as an example. It's crazy yall. There are members that set up lessons with the people THEY are teaching, and then invite us to come over the help with the lesson. But yeah, I'm in shock.

We had bishop riches give us a referral for a girl named Samantha and we had the most powerful restoration lesson with her. We taught her in her hotel since she doesn't have a home right now. Bishop riches is paying for her to stay in a hotel and providing food for her too. She is trying to get a stable place to live, so prayers for her would be much appreciated. But while we were teaching her, she had so many good questions about the Book of mormon and eventually asked us if we could read the testimonies of the witnesses with her. We even had abother lesson with her at bishops home and he organized it and invited a girl named destiny to join. Destiny was baptized on Saturday!!! We went for the last bit since we were driving back from the temple. She is amazing and is already an amazing missionary and she hasn't even been a member for 48 hours!

Little thought: you example does NOT go unnoticed. So many people are watching and it changes lives. Ive talked with lots of recent coverts this week, and many of them gained connections with the church because of other people's examples. Also from my end, I am learning so much from all the people I get to watch and get to know. Being an example is MUCH more powerful than being a top-rated teacher or professor. Living righteously will make more of an impact on the people around rather than what you say or claim to be true. Be righteous. You won't regret it. If you don't believe me, look what happened to the unrighteous in the book of mormon time after time. We know who wins in the end, so choose that team!!๐Ÿ’ช

I love yall so much, keep doing what you know to be right and involve God in everything you do. Life is better that way!!

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door๐Ÿ˜… so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start ๐Ÿ˜‚ so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
