Week 60

Week 60
We made it to the 60's!! This week was mega stressful and I was constantly tired which is nothing new. BUT good things still happened!
First things first, SAMANTHA IS ON DATE!! Her baptism is planned for March 18th and she is excited about it! I just love her so much and to see how much she has changed and grown in the last 2.5 weeks is incredible. It's weird cuz I feel like I have known her for a lifetime and I care about her so much, but I've literally only known her for 2.5 weeks. When we were teaching her the plan of salvation, she kept saying how much she liked it because it was all hopeful. She said it made a lot more sense than what she was taught growing up. She just seems so much more joyful and hopeful now that she knows these things. I am so excited for her baptism, it is going to be so special 😁
I also had a packed day on Saturday and it was amazing. I was on exchanges with Sister Strong and we had SIX lessons back to back!! It was amazing haha it was like every missionary's dream. Roberta (an old lady we are teaching) came to church for the first time!

Something that I just super duper appriected this week was the members. They treat us so well and they are all doing their best to be the best missionaries they can be. Its honestly so inspiring. We went to a fireside at Bishop Riches house, and something that he said was "the church isnt a museum for saints, it is a hospital for sinners". I thought a lot about that because I've seen a lot of people have negative feelings for the church, simply because they lose sight of the purpose of church. We go every week not to show that we are better than others, but we go every week because we want to be better every week. If you want to become better, if you want to have Christ intervene with your day to day life, if you want godly help with your calling, job, family, school, anything, then go to church even when the sacrifice is great. Remember the greater the sacrifice, the greater the blessing. I basically wrote this down in my journal as a note to my future self if I ever see my church habits slipping. I have had a front row seat this past year to see the miracles that happen from coming to church. The blessings and miracles are unmatched by anything else! Nothing else we do can unlock the door that opens up those specific blessings. I hope to never lose this habit or any of the good habits I have developed on my mission. Moral of the story: always keep doing the good small things (church, prayer, scriptures) even if you don't see a difference, and it might just change the entire course of your life for the better.
I'm grateful for the God lovin, Jesus praisin people out here that have been an example to me of what it means to rely on Jesus christ. I love the south🙃

Week 73

Wow this was a fast week... It's getting real yall. It was a really good week tho! Zone Conference! My very last zone conference😢 I gave my departing testimony and it was weird to be on that side of it because my whole mission I've been watching other missionaries give their departing testimonies and now all of a sudden it was me! But it was a really spiritual experience and I loved it. The rest of this week was super duper good! Lots of small miracles that lifted my spirits. We are finding quite a few new people to teach and I'm actually really excited about them! There was this one guy we talked to on his porch in passing, and we invited him to church, but then the phone number he gave us didn't work. BUT he showed up to church 6 days later!! I gave a talk in sacrament and after the meeting he asked if he could have a book of mormon 😱 his name is James and he is so cool!! We also prayed really hard on Friday that we could plant a lot of seeds...

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...
