Week 67

This week was another blur... I hope the weeks slow down because they are going by so scarily fast!! I went on 2 exchanges this week, so that is probably part of the reason. I spent Tuesday in Lebanon with Sister Stroud (who's parents own property in Mapleton and are going to eventually build and move there!!). It was really fun and it is always refreshing to go out and spend a day in someone else's neighborhood. It is a Spanish area, so during all the lessons I just sat there smiling cuz I don't speak Spanish 😂 there was one lady that we taught who only spoke Spanish, so sister stroud taught her while I played with their little shih tzu that looked a lot like gizmo 😍 it was amazing hehe I just got to let him for like 20 minutes😂 I also went on exchanges with Sister Morrell and it was an overnight exchange, so I got to spend the day and night in Knoxville!! Knoxville has a special place in my heart, it was good to be back. Sister Morrell and I go home together in June, so it was good to talk to someone who is feeling similar things that I am. It's gonna come fast! It was a good exchange and I felt really refreshed afterwards.
The ward had an activity that was really fun too, it was family feud and it got heated😂 I was enjoying myself haha this ward is such a blast. They are all about having fun and building unity with everyone in the ward. Everyone is focused on getting to know ward members that they don't know, and it makes everything so fun!!
We also had zone conference!! It was all focused on faith and how when we seek and expect miracles, God is more likely to give them to us. It was really cool and it's amazing once you understand that even though faith is not a tangible thing, it CAN and WILL change things. It has power and is honestly not taught enough. Look at the last sentence in Alma 31:38 and tell me otherwise. It's pretty crazy once you realize the physical power that faith actually has. But anyways, zone conference was amazing and only one more to go! 🥲
On Sunday I got to play the cello!! Sister Chan played the violin and elder Burnett played the piano. We played a pretty arrangement of " Consider the Lillies". It was so much fun! I forgot how much I love playing! My fingers are so tender tho because I don't have the playing calluses like I used to, so the strings dug into my fingers and it hurts pretty bad haha. But worth it!! I made 3 old ladies and one grown man cry😎 they came up and told me afterwards haha.
But yeah! My week was really good! I am starting to struggle a little more with fatigue, but I'm doing my best to fight it off before it gets too bad, cuz fatigue sucks the joy out of everything😵 so wish me luck, and prayers for energy would be much appreciated 🙏
I love yall tons!!

Week 74

Alrighty, here I am again. This was MIRACLE filled week. It had its ups and downs, but I'm going to focus on the ups! So first of all, the big miracle is James!!! This has got to be the most prepared person I have ever met on my entire mission! Not an exaggeration! I can't remember exactly what I've said about him in the past, so here's a little summary. We were walking around a neighborhood last Sunday after church and we decided to knock his door. He was really nice, so we came back on Tuesday to do a Bible study. Then we lost contact with him for the rest of the week. BUT he showed up to church on Sunday!!! We were so shocked!! Then he came to church AGAIN and he had read all the way up to Jacob, and he knew everything about the saints leaving to Utah, their history, everything about Joseph Smith and Emma Smith, and a bunch of other random facts! He said he knew Joseph Smith was called of God and he never wanted to stop coming to our church because he said it feels ...

WEEK 6: Crossville, TN

This week flew by, which I guess is a good thing! To jump right into things, we are teaching quite a few people right now, and I can see 3 of them being baptized by the end of this transfer. I've been praying so hard about it, because I have developed such a strong love for them individually and I want them to progress and be baptized soooo badly. It's funny cuz you don't realize how much you love and cherish the gospel until you start teaching it to someone who doesn't know it. I really hope to see a baptism before the transfer ends because I care about these people so much.  Sister Jones and I have been working hard and we have found so many new people to teach! I've definitely changed a lot in a few weeks cuz I get genuinely excited to knock on someone's door, and I stand there hoping that they answer. I won't lie, the first week, I would feel a flood of relief if someone didn't answer their door😅 so I've come a long way!  I also love visiting p...

Week 69

This week had a lot of highs, and the lowest of lows. So we will start with the highs! We had a mission wide devotional with Neil L Anderson in Knoxville! This is the 3rd and final time on my mission that we have gathered as an entire mission in one Chapel!! There is something really special about being the all the missionaries in the whole mission. But obviously the best part was meeting one of the 12 apostles, getting to shake his hand, and then getting spiritually fed by him for a few hours. I recivied so much revelation (almost to the point where it is overwhelming), so I'm just looking back at little segments of my notes at a time, or else I will not know where to start, so I won't start 😂 so I'm doing one thing at a time. I wish I could summarize all the thought I had into one paragraph, but that would be impossible. But boy was it cool! Before the devotional while we were in Knoxville we went and visited claire!!! She is that cute little Filipino that I taught and b...
