Week 33

Another week of covering 3 areas! It's been an adventure for sure and I'm actually kind of amazed that it is going this smoothly. We basically have 2 of everything because the 3 areas we are covering are in 2 different districts. So 2 DL calls, 2 district councils, 3 coordination meetings, it's crazy.  Here are some things that happened this week: -We got a random text from a lady that said she wanted to be baptized next month! -We had transfer calls and I am moving to Hixson! Its in the Chattanooga zone and I am going to be ward sharing with Sister Garbett!!!!  -we went to an outdoor festival and that was so fun! It was fun to be at a lively event with lots of people.  Other than that, nothing super crazy happened this week. I'm excited for this coming transfer and all it will entail! Thanks for all the love and support from everyone! It means a lot:)

Week 32

Lots of random stuff happened this week, one of them being, I am in a trio now!! It's temporary and it's only for 2 weeks, but I realized how much I missed being in a trio! There was a sister who went home, so her companion is with us now! And we are also working her area as well, so now we are over 3 areas and SMS😅 and the new area is 30 minutes away. So it has been really interesting to see this all work out, but it's fun! We will work like half the day in Farragut and Pellissippi, then we'll make the drive to Loudon and work there for a few hours before coming home. It's pretty fun! The new Sister is names Sister Jones and boy did I need her. She has lifted my spirit so much! Also, I have very good news!! THE WEATHER IS COOLING DOWN!!!! I can not express how happy this makes me🥳  As for the people we have been teaching, Stephanie and guang are AWESOME as always. They are making steady progress towards having a relationship with God.  The 2 awesome twins we wer...

Week 31

This week was good! Nothing crazy happened, but we did get bashed by a baptist preacher for about an hour, and that was actually pretty entertaining! Its hard to just take the punches, but we know that explaining things would only start an argument, so we just sit and listen until we can find a good break to leave. But I still love the people here so much! No amount of baptist preacher bashing can change that.  Our teaching pool is a little bit empty right now which has been hard. The lady who we had on date to be baptized dropped us over text which was really sad. But we know she'll be ready at a different time! Michael who was baptized a few weeks ago is preparing to go to the temple! We are so excited for him! If I'm still in the area I'll get to go with him as well! I went to a book of Mormon study on Tuesday and there was a gal there that recognized me because she served with my older sister, Haley in Oklahoma it was pretty crazy but it was fun to have another little c...

week 30

Week 30! This week was very slow, but in a good way. On monday, we got to travel to North Carolina with the SMS team to do some filming in the Asheville zone. It was about a two and a half hour drive, and it was so much fun!! The SMS team is awesome and I love working closely with the senior couples. The drive there was super pretty, and when we got there we set up everything in a church building and started filming! It was a little stressful but it went pretty smoothly. After we got all the footage we needed we went to a super cute Taco shop and didn't finish eating till about 9: 30. The drive home I attempted to sleep but it was hard to do in the back seat of a Transit van haha we didn't end up going to bed until a little past midnight which is pretty tragic as a missionary because you'll never get that sleep back haha. I think that's part of the reason why this week has been a little slow is because I'm very tired. Some miracles that happen this week, we had a su...

Week 29

This week was way too short, but such a good one!!! Yesterday we had 3 people who were confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and given the gift of the holy ghost, and let me tell you.. the spirit was SO strong during that meeting. I also gave a talk, and I was trying not to cry because I was overwhelmed with happiness. So landen and Madelyn were confirmed first, then Michael was last. He showed up late and my heart was beating out of my chest anxiously waiting for him to show up. But in the middle of the 2nd confirmation, I saw him in the foyer so I waved at him and he came and sat next to me. I whispered to him that he was next and when they said "amen", he is going to walk up to the church of men and sit in the chair. He got real excited and said ok. Then when they said amen, he confidently stood up and walked the circle with his loud janitorial stash of keys clanking around in his belt, then he was confirmed. He had the biggest smile on his ...

Week 28

This week was a wild one! We had transfers, 2 baptisms on sunday, and we went to a non denominational rock band church.  My new companion is Sister Goodman and she is AWESOME!! She has taught me what it really means to work hard!💪 I am thriving with her and I hope we get more than one transfer together!! Two cute kids named Madelyn and Landon were baptized on Sunday! They have been being taught for a while now and it was such a cute baptism!  We did a church song with one of our friends named mary, and so we got to go to her non-denominational church service! It was very different! I've never experienced anything quite like it, but it's cool to now understand what other people are talking about when they talk about their rock band churches 🥳 let's just say I had a headache for a few hours afterwards haha. Other than that, this week was a busy one full of teaching and planning! We are making a lot of progress with SMS and running the social media pages. It's a lot of w...

Week 27

Transfers calls!! So I'm staying in Pellissippi/Farragut, but I'm getting a new companion. Transfers aren't until Wednesday, so I have a couple more days to work hard with Sister Blackard! I will say, this has been the fastest transfer yet! They keep going by faster and faster.  I did miss home quite a bit this week. There was a missionary homecoming talk on Sunday and this newly returned missionary and all his extended family and friends were there and it really made me miss home🥺 I'd say the one thing I'm struggling with the most is living in the moment. It's harder than it sounds! This week I re-listened to "the conversion story of Bill Carpenter" and it really opened up my eyes about my time here on a mission.  To ANYONE who hasn't listened to this story yet, DO IT. I don't really leave invitations often when I send these weekly updates, so y'all better do this one! It's about an hour long, but it's amazing. Please please pleas...

Week 26

This week was amazing! We got 2 more people on date to be baptized and lots of things came together that we were stressing about. We had lots of really good lessons this week too! Most of my days this week looked something like this: wake up, run, shower, plan, study, visit people, call people, teach people, go to meetings, eat, teach some more, then pass out in bed. It's exhausting but I LOVE it!! My companion and I decided to do lunges up a big hill, and the entire next day we couldn't walk without falling over haha it was amazing. We also had a pretty cool experience with our neighbor! We had about 10 minutes left of our dinner hour, and so sister blackard set her head down just for a second to take a quick break, then she said that she had a prompting that we needed to go visit our neighbor named Jeannie. So we ended dinner a little early and walked over and knocked on her door. We ended up having a super good conversation and she said she would love to learn more from us b...

Week 25

Not gonna lie, this week was a long one😪 not for any specific reason, the time just didn't want to pass by quick. This also sounds backwards, but I want to be worked so hard that I pass out every night, cuz right now I feel like I'm floating day by day, and I want to feel like I'm climbing day by day. I'd rather lose a hard competetive tennis match than win an easy one. So I'm trying to spice up this area, but so far the spice isn't cookin🫤 But we did have many small miracles that happened! We found quite a few new people to teach, and Michael came to church again on Sunday!!! We are going to invite him to be baptized when we visit with this week, so prayers would be much appreciated for Michael and his readiness for baptism😁.  I also had to deadlift a 250lb man off the ground cuz he fell and we were the only ones there to help.  Side note: this humidity is NO JOKE... we wake up in the mornings and the back doors look like shower doors. I'll attach a pict...

Week 23

Another week done! (Disclaimer: I only took 3 pictures this week, and 1 of them was of a map, so that's why there's only 2 pics)  We had a baptism on Saturday! It's the first baptism this area has had in 3 years, so that's super exciting! Her name is Julie and she is 10 years old. She is so sweet and she was smiling so much at her baptism. Sister Blackard is the sweetest cuz she braided her hair for the baptism and we went over before church to braid her hair again because she loved them so much. It was the sweetest thing. She got confirmed on Sunday and she was smiling so big the whole time:) so that was definitely the highlight of my week!  We spent a lot of time trying to get to know the new Farragut area which has been stressful but awesome! We had a lesson with a guy named Jacob and the spirit was so strong. He has a lot of potential, so stay tuned for another baptism;)  That was basically my week! Today was an awesome pday too! I got to play pickleball in 90° weat...

Week 22

I love my new area! My new comp is the BEST and I am having so much fun! We are whitewashing the Farragut ward and we are over the Pellissippi ward too, so we are very busy. I am also responsible for running the missions Instagram and Facebook pages, so that should be interesting! A little success from this week: there is this guy that has committed to come to church 4 weeks in a row, and he actually came to church on Sunday!!!  This week has basically been a week of adjusting to the new area and getting to know all the new members. It's a good time! Thanks for all the support from everyone! It really makes a huge difference:)

week 21

This was a super stressful week, but I survived! We had a lot going on, but the breaker was transfer calls:( I'll be leaving this area and going to the Pellissippi/Farragut area. I'm super sad about that. I have loved being in this area so much and it's going to be hard leaving the YSA and the bearden ward. The families in the Breaden ward have been so loving and its the closest to home i've felt on the mission so far. Everyone is so nice and I am having a hard time accepting that I'm leaving haha. I feel so disorganized and scattered right now, so im just going to give a quick rundown of my week day by day Tuesday: we had a super awesome lesson with Claire today and I was so excited for her baptism. She is so spiritual and she loves the book of mormon. I also always feel so good around her cuz she's always giving me compliments and hyping me up😂 I love her. We also had our interviews with president today which I was nervous for. I was also stressed cuz we had ...
